Whether cats immigrate to Thailand or dogs immigrate to Thailand, pets must be at least 4 months old at the time of entry. The Thai authorities require that all pets entering the country have completed the implantation of an electronic identity chip and arranged a rabies vaccination certificate before entering the country. The certificate must state the chip number, the date of vaccination and the validity of the specific vaccine you get-because some can be used for two years, but some can only be used for one year.
In addition, pets need a pet health certificate provided by an approved veterinarian, including general health and no symptoms of infection or infectious diseases. Before bringing your pet to Thailand, please apply for an import permit and obtain an import permit from the Bangkok Animal Quarantine Station. This permit is valid for 45 days from the date of issuance. Please note that Hong Kong pet owners need to pass the isolation procedure upon arrival.
