Aircraft Cage and Pet Bag Teaching

This video will show how to prepare for your pet to welcome a pet on an airplane journey.

We recommend that you buy a high-quality aircraft cage and pet bag.

Pet bag

The purpose of the film is to help prepare pets for an airplane journey. In fact, whether traveling or moving to a foreign country, the pet bag is only for the convenience of bringing pets during the journey, not on the plane.

  1. Put the absorbent pad into the bottom of the pet cage. This will provide your pet as a cushion and keep it dry in the pet bag.
  2. The next step is to prepare food for the journey. Two containers that can be fixed in the cage, one for carrying water and the other for food, and pets’ favorite toys or items with the smell of the owner, make pets feel more at ease. (Note that toys and owner’s items should not be hard objects to prevent pets from being injured)
  3. Then fix the utensils on the pet bag.
  4. You need to prepare a recent photo of your pet. You can easily use your mobile phone to take a photo of your pet and print it out.
  5. The next step is to prepare the pet certificate kit, put the airline name, flight itinerary information, and recent pet photos into the pet bag, and then put the kit into the side pocket of the pet bag or hang it on the bag.
  6. Then fill in the name tag on the pet bag with the following information, including your name, pet’s name, and pet’s behavior. Then tie the name tag to the pet bag.
  7. Next you need to prepare a metal tag as a pet name tag, you do not need to remove the metal tag. For safety, it’s best to fill in your contact information on the card.
  8. It is recommended to use a full-body pet belt with elastic buckle as the best. Make sure that you and your pet can more easily go through the quarantine process or use it when walking with your pet at the destination.
  9. Then put the pet in the pet bag and close the zipper.

Aircraft cage

The video will show how to measure your pet so that you can buy the correct size pet cage.

The pet cage must be closed during the trip and cannot be opened. The space in the pet cage must be enough for the pet to stand in a normal standing posture, with a space of 5 – 6 cm above the head, so that the pet can turn around and lie down freely at any time. This is especially important during long flight journeys.

The first step is to measure your pet:

First, you need some simple daily necessities: chalk or pencil, paper, tape measure, scales and an assistant. Next, choose a wall to complete your measurement. You can choose to use chalk or pencil, because it is easier to clean up two lines.

Let the pet stand on the wall naturally. Place one hand on the pet’s lower jaw and the other hand on the pet’s belly. Ask your assistant to help draw the following positions on the wall:

Mark 1, the highest point of the head, that is, if it is a pet with lop-eared breed, it is the position on top of the head, if it is a pet with vertical-eared breed, it is at the tip of the ear.

Mark 2, nose tip

Mark 3, the tail or root of a pet, many people mistakenly include the entire tail in the measurement range

Mark 4, usually the dog’s head is slightly higher than his tail.

Once your assistant has made all the traces, an imaginary parallel line between number 2 and 3 of the pet-length chalk note. In order to create this parallel line you need to make the tail measure to the same height as the nose measurement. To do this from the floor, take the mark 2, and then put the mark 3 to the same level using the scale from the floor conformity mark 3 to the same height at the end. This is mark 4.

Height: Chalk mark 1 measures the height of the pet to the floor.

Length: Measure the length of the pet from the pink note number 2 to 4.

With the above data, you can choose the most suitable aircraft cage for your pet. Each airline may have different standard requirements for pet aircraft cages. Under normal circumstances, please note:

  1. Try to use aircraft cages made of lighter materials (this effectively reduces airline charges when carrying pets)
  2. The material of the pet box, such as hard glass fiber, hard plastic or metal, with strong and breathable metal mesh, etc.
  3. Airlines usually do not accept soft-shell boxes or bags
  4. The box must have escape prevention (lockable) and enough space for the pet to stand, sit, sleep and turn around.
  5. Only one animal can be transported in a box.
